Art & Ability is the opportunity to experience the artistry of dozens of exceptional artists with disabilities, all revealing one evocative truth - Disability can be a fuel that ignites the creative talent and expression in people.
Sometimes miraculous ability shines through “disability” in both local debuting artists and renowned artists from throughout the country who experience life with autism, paralysis, blindness, physical disorders, mental illness or other challenges. Art empowers these artists and allows them to show their expression of life while allowing others a window into their joy, frustration, self-perception, love, simplicity, complex emotion, eroticism and more.

Are you an artist?
The Arc of Dallas is accepting artwork by artists with and without disabilities for exhibit in a series of shows opening at a wide range of venues in the Dallas area throughout 2011. Locations will include galleries, art museums, churches and other public buildings.
Entries are accepted year-round. There is no entry fee and works in all mixed media are eligible.
