Contract Positions

Arc LIFE Instructor - Part Time ($12-16/hr)
We are looking for individuals to provide effective outcome-oriented instruction to adults with intellectual or related developmental disabilities. Arc LIFE’s goal is to enhance academic, social or life skills so that students can increase or maintain their levels of independence. Instruction is provided in both classroom and community settings. Curriculum is provided, but we are also open to new ideas and subject matter. Evening sessions are typically 2 hours long, 1 night per week for four weeks. Some day sessions available. We are seeking leaders who provide a positive environment, understand a range of abilities and behaviors, are flexible, responsible, have a heart for working with adults who have intellectual disabilities and can deliver services in a professional manner. Some instructors also responsible for directing aides and volunteers. Other responsibilities include: completion of paperwork, maintaining a professional appearance and environment attending required meetings and training. To apply, contact

Arc LIFE Aide - Part Time ($10-11/hr)
We are looking for individuals to provide positive classroom and activity support to Arc LIFE instructors to help achieve the maximum outcomes for students. Aides work under the direction of the Arc LIFE Instructor to help complete required tasks. Must be available to attend meetings and trainings as required. Communications/PR Intern

Looking for real-world experience? This internship is not a gopher position. You will have much to add to your portfolio after this position. You will work with communication plans, media, funding, websites, event planning, desk-top publishing, writing, editing and more. Real world experience and the added perk of making a difference! Legislative Advocacy Intern
Help change the lives of Texans with mental retardation and their families. Tens of thousands of Texans are on waiting lists for 12+ years for services that are readily available in most other states. Help with legislative research, communications and more. Do you have great communications skills, both written and oral and enjoy research? Political science, sociology majors/background preferred. Guardianship Intern
Interested in hands-on experience working with people with mental retardation?  Looking for training working in the court system?  Then this internship might be a great fit for you. 

·         Work with referrals from the Dallas County Probate Courts, Adult Protective Services (APS), and the

          Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS)

·         Interface with Arc staff, volunteer advocates, court investigators,  APS and DADS guardianship specialists

          and clients

·         Learn about the guardianship process through the court system

·         Client assessments, client visits, monitoring volunteer advocate activities
